Natura Network Agreements
Organising at least one Green Days event per year Nature educational activities for children of 4 local and neighbouring schools were organized with demonstration of the documentary about Park's natural values, also the information about the National Park as Natura 2000 site was presented. During this year there were over 200 guided tours in the Park with included information about Natura 2000.
Promoting Natura 2000 at the local level The news concerning Natura 2000 (information about species, habitats, threats and conservation possibilities, etc.) is published in the regional newspaper. Meanwhile, more detailed information was given for the local stakeholders during the several seminars. The individual interactions with stakeholders are propagated as an effective form to promote conservation of biodiversity and to solve the specific cases related with it.
Twinning / Networking for knowledge exchange Only at the national level. At irregular intervals exchange of working knowledge with specialists of different national protected areas is the important source to obtain the practical information about management of particular habitats, etc.
Involving stakeholders in the management planning process There are prepared 2 management plans for two different areas in the territory of the National Park. Unfortunately, they are not still approved by the state authorities. But, in order to prevent overgrowing and loss of certain types of grasslands, habitats of birds, grazing and mowing activities are encouraged by the state rural development plan. The landowners are able to receive agro-environmental funding for maintaining biologically valuable habitats and for implementing certain environmental restrictions on their agricultural lands or mires. As this practice was started to implement only a year ago, it is not common yet among the landowners. Hence, our main goals are to involve more landowners in the nature conservation actions, to convince them in the benefits of accepting specific management methods.
Branding Natura 2000 Sorry to say that Natura 2000 logo is not used officially yet. But in the nearest future it is going to be done. At present, those visitors of the Park who have guided tours can obtain information about site status. The products, produced in or around the National Park are also not branded as Natura 2000 product.
